Fantastic Mr. Fox

Fantastic Mr. Fox is a delightfully eccentric 2009 stop-motion animated comedy-caped film directed by Wes Anderson, adapted from Roald Dahl‘s beloved children’s novel.

The story follows Mr. Fox (voiced by George Clooney), a charismatic, quick-witted wild animal who turns away from a life of dangerous poultry thievery to become a respectable newspaper columnist for the sake of his wife, Felicity (voiced by Meryl Streep). However, the lingering allure of his old rebellious ways proves too strong to resist. When Mr. Fox moves his family into a tree next door to three notoriously mean, gargantuan factory farmers—Boggis, Bunce, and Bean—he orchestrates a massive, meticulously planned underground heist that triggers an all-out war between the animals and humans.

Crafted with Anderson’s trademark deadpan humor, symmetrical framing, and a gorgeous, autumnal color palette, Fantastic Mr. Fox is a wildly charming celebration of cleverness, family solidarity, and staying true to one’s wild nature.
