Want the place to yourself? You can. Rent our movie room for a private screening and the place is yours for the session: your group, the film you choose, the big screen and the best popcorn in town. Everything you need to know is below, and there’s a booking form at the bottom of the page.
What it costs
These are our rates for a private movie session:
| Before 12pm | $25 | |
| 12–2pm | $35 | |
| 2–6pm | $45 | |
| 6pm–late | $55 |
We don’t run private sessions on Sundays.
When you can book
Our schedule for this week might not have any availability, unless anytime outside currently scheduled films. If you can make your booking for a private session at least one week ahead, we can lock you in on the upcoming movie schedule.
What’s included
Your rate covers a private screening of one film during your session — roughly 120 minutes of screen time, which is enough for almost anything. A handful of longer epics run well past that (think Gone with the Wind or Zack Snyder’s Justice League, both around four hours), so we charge a special rate for those. Just ask.
Booking and your deposit
To hold your slot, we ask for the full room rent as a deposit in advance. You can pay by ABA transfer or in cash at the venue.
If you need to cancel
We understand that plans can change! However, because our private movie room slots are highly requested and blocked off exclusively for your group a full week in advance, we enforce the following policy to protect our schedule:
- ✅ Up to 7 Days Before: You can cancel or reschedule your session at no cost.
- ⚠️ Within 7 Days of Booking: Cancellations made within a week of the scheduled slot will incur the full cost of the rental, as the time has been locked down and lost to other groups.
Food and drinks
Our popcorn — the best in town — and ice-cold drinks are available at the bar throughout your session, all at regular prices.
Good to know before you book
A few practical things, so there are no surprises on the day:
- If you’ve been to The Flicks before, you’ll already know the room and how any regular screening here works. If you haven’t, please come by first. This website should also answer most of the practical questions about drinks, popcorn, capacity and how to find us.
- We source every film through our own cinema distribution channels and screen proper 4K digital editions. That means we can’t play DVDs, hard drives or anything streamed online, and we can’t run your own media. Tell us the film you’d like and we’ll check whether we can get it.
- We don’t keep a fixed catalogue. We’re happy to try and source the film you want; if it turns out to be tricky, we can suggest options for different age groups.
- Our screenings don’t come with Khmer subtitles.
- Please don’t bring outside food or drink, with the odd exception — a birthday cake, say — if you let us know in advance. Do bring your own recyclable plates and utensils.
Hosting a Kids’ Movie Screening
We love welcoming younger audiences to the big screen! Phnom Penh families have been celebrating birthdays and weekend afternoons with us for many years before, and we want your group to feel right at home.
To help you plan the perfect day, here is what you need to know about our space:
- A Cinema First and Foremost
When you book with us, you are renting an intimate, air-conditioned private movie room for an immersive screening experience, rather than a traditional party venue. Because our rooms are designed specifically for watching films, we kindly ask that you keep the following in mind: - Decorations & Extras:To protect the cinema setup, we cannot allow room decorations, face paint, sprays, glitter, or confetti.
- The Environment: The room is built for cozy movie-watching, not active playground games like hide-and-seek or tag. If the energy shifts away from the film and the children are unable to settle in, we may need to end the session early to protect the equipment.
- Adult Supervision: We require at least one adult from your group to stay in the room with the children throughout the screening so there is always a familiar face on hand.
- The Perfect Part of Your Day: For the birthday singing, opening presents, and party decorations, a screening at The Flicks works best as a special chapter of your celebration rather than the main event.
