After almost two months of building, designing, painting, tweaking, and perfecting Phnom Penh’s newest cozy cinematic escape, The Flicks Community Movie Theater is officially opening its doors — and YOU ARE INVITED to be among the very first to see what we’ve built.

Before our regular daily schedule kicks off on Monday, September 14, we’re celebrating with two special Official Opening Days on the weekend before.

THE LAST REEL (2014)
A rebellious Cambodian teenager uncovers an unfinished 1970s film starring her mother, triggering a journey into her family’s hidden past during the Khmer Rouge era.

CITY OF GHOSTS (2002)
An American con man (Matt Dillon) travels to Cambodia to collect an insurance scam payout, only to get drawn into a dangerous underworld alongside his elusive mentor.

 

What You Need to Know

You don’t need a movie ticket to just drop by. Doors open at 12 PM on both days, so come have a look around, check out the new setup, meet fellow movie lovers, grab a drink, and soak up the atmosphere.

The bar will be fully stocked with ice-cold drinks, and The Best Popcorn in Town is making its return.

With just 28 seats per screening, our Opening Days screenings are strictly first come, first served. Once those 28 seats are gone, they’re gone.

Tickets are $5 each and go on sale one hour before each screening. Tickets are available in person only at the new Lobby Lounge Bar on the ground floor.

We accept Cash or ABA Pay. Please note that we do not accept credit cards or $100 bills.
