Curious teenager Max Dennison (Omri Katz), recently relocated from Los Angeles to Salem, Massachusetts, accidentally resurrects a trio of wicked 17th-century witches on Halloween night while exploring an abandoned cottage with his sister Dani (Thora Birch) and classmate Allison (Vinessa Shaw).
Brought back from the grave after 300 years, the Sanderson sisters — flamboyant leader Winifred (Bette Midler), flighty Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker), and sniffer-out of children Mary (Kathy Najimy) — must drain the life force of Salem’s youth before sunrise to make their revival permanent. Guided by a magically immortal black cat named Binx, the kids scramble to steal the witches’ spellbook and stop the trio’s chaotic spell-casting rampage across town.
Kenny Ortega directs an enduring, campy Halloween staple that blends slapstick comedy, magical mayhem, and unforgettable musical numbers.
From Bette Midler’s iconic performance of “I Put a Spell on You” at the Salem town hall to the hilarious antics of three out-of-time witches navigating modern Halloween night, this 90s favorite remains pure, nostalgic fun.
